Preparing for your Service Call

To help our technicians make the most of their time and yours we ask that you:

  • Put away pets and unlock any gates
  • Cover needs to be clear of any debris or standing water
  • Pool water must be raised to the middle of the skimmer opening (operating level)
  • Garden hose spigots are accessible and operational
  • Electrical power to the cover is on

If service or repairs can not be performed due to lack of proper cover care or preparation for scheduled service visit including, but not limited to gates being locked, excess water on top of the cover, no electricity to the cover, etc. you will be responsible for the minimum charge on this unproductive trip and again on the return trip.

Appointments

We are proud to offer service to the entire state of Arizona. Due to the long travel times and the inability to predict a technician’s time at each appointment we are unable to schedule specific or approximate times for service calls. If requested the technician can text or call you with an ETA when they are headed to your home. We can try our best to give you an estimated timeframe, however we make no guarantees as our days are unpredictable. If for any reason we are unable to make it to your appointment, we will do our best to reschedule your service call in a timely fashion. It is not necessary for you to be home when our technicians are working on your pool cover as long as access is open to the pool area and the aforementioned preparations have been completed.

Travel Charges

Our shop is located in Mesa, Arizona. We travel all over the state to install, service, and maintain automatic pool covers. Travel Charges apply to all jobs based on proximity to our shop. To reduce travel charges we try to schedule multiple appointments in the same area. When two or more jobs are scheduled in the same area this will reduce the travel charge by half. If your service need is urgent and you are unable to wait until we will be in your area we will do our best to accommodate your need subject to the travel charge.

Replacement Covers

Like any other fabric, our safety covers will wear and age with time. The average lifespan of a Coverstar cover in Arizona is 5-7 years. It is important to learn how to recognize when it may be time to replace the cover. If your cover is showing any of the issues below, your cover is most likely not providing the optimum safety it once did and you should consider getting it replaced. Please fill out the form below or call us at 480-834-1002 and we will assist in getting you a quote for replacing your pool cover fabric.

Wear and Tear

Pool chemicals, temperature variations and ultraviolet light slowly break down the pool cover fabric over time. Look for; cracks, peeling, or the scrim showing on the cover. These are weak spots on the cover where water may be seeping through the surface.

Scrim

The Scrim is the strength of the cover, it is a white fibrous material in the cover itself, if you can see this white material it means that the top half of the cover has deteriorated through wear and tear. Once you can see this material, your cover will no longer be considered a true “safety cover”.

Color Rubbing Off

If you notice that when you touch the cover, the color appears to be coming off and onto your hands, it is getting close to time to replace your fabric. When this happens the top layer of the cover is deteriorating and will soon begin to show scrim and allow water to seap through, meaning the strength of the cover is failing and will no longer be considered a safety cover.

Problems with Sewn Webbing

A good indicator that it is time to replace is if there are issues with any sewn webbing. If you notice that there are missing stitches or bunched webbing, it could mean that the webbing is failing, and could potentially cause a massive problem, if the problem persists for long enough the entire cover could break away from the webbing and fall into the pool.
